Lekce angličtiny ve virtuálním prostředí Languagelab
Grammar lesson: Speaking and writing
Students: Jacket Mert Oodles, DundarHurriccane, Valentina Lyric, Anibal Spot, Zeynep Coy, Burak (Europe, Asia, Central America)
Teacher: Iffaf Ling (UK)

This lesson was slightly different to the others I have been to in the lower level so far. We started with answering these two questions below.
What are the good things about reading?
To get more information and get a good book.
What are the good things of being a student?
A lot of friends, different to when you are working, it has its advantages and disadvantages – not a lot of money though…
Based on our speaking performance our teacher pointed out grammatical areas where students made mistakes.
 [13:16] Iffaf: simple/continuous
[13:16] Iffaf: ing
[13:16] Iffaf: countable and uncountable nouns
[13:16] Iffaf: quantifiers
 [13:17] Iffaf: articles, modal verbs
However the major focus was on countable and uncountable nouns. Iffaf said out nouns and we were to guess whether they are countable or uncountable.
UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS are things we can't count.
COUNTABLE NOUNS are things we can count.
Progress, job, table, battery, advice, trash information, banana…..
Our second task was to use these nouns with much or many, for example;
[13:29] Iffaf: many floors
[13:29] Iffaf: much light
Much money, information, advice, many tables, people, jobs,

[13:36] Anibal Spot:  many people, cups, books, newspapers, chairs, beds….
[13:36] Burak: much power, currency, sugar, butter, water, music….
Here is a website where you can put words into columns.
[13:42] Iffaf: We use articles (a/an/the) with both countable and uncountable nouns. We call a and an indefinite articles and the a definite article.
THE – specific meaning
A /AN – Singular noun, general meaning
a dog
I'd like to have a dog.
a house
Homeless people don't have a house.
the dog
I love the dog next door.
 [13:44] Iffaf: a/an/the/some/many/much
[13:45] Iffaf:  make 1 or 2 sentences about what you like or what you do every day.
Every day I eat biscuits and drink some tea.
[13:45] Valentina10 Lyric: I TAKE SOME BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY
[13:45] Iffaf: I have many breaks
[13:47] Iffaf: Every day I used to eat some eggs.
[13:47] Valentina10 Lyric: I LIKE ICE CREAM VERY MATCH
[13:47] UTKU Hurricane: I joined 4 lessons in languagelab yesterday
[13:47] Burak58 Lastchance: The best thing is sleeping for me.
This was an excellent lesson a very well structured practice. Here is some advice to keep in mind.
At least once a month, you should try and remember your nouns.
Keep a vocabulary record.
When you write down new nouns, also note down whether they are countable or uncountable.
