There are lots of sectors where we more or less meet a customer on daily basis. The sectors can for example be; a banking sector, a tourist or a shopping sector. The customer is always different and every sector has a different approach to the customer.
It is important to treat the customer with a respect and try to follow his or her wishes. Firstly we discussed these questions.
What do you understand by a customer relationship management?
How important is it to keep customers you have?
How can relationships with customers be managed by companies?
Do you think that different sectors need to have different types of customer relationship management policies? Why or why not?
Later on we were divided into groups and were given three examples of a customer relationship management in three sectors. A technology sector, an interior design and a hotel sector; in all of these a satisfied customer is a key to a success. We read all the articles and discussed what the priorities are and how they vary in different sectors.
We also discussed how the sectors obtain data about customers’ satisfaction. Hotels for example use surveys, interior design companies are more personal and get the information face to face. The technology sector targeted the product more than the customer at the beginning. However it has been slowly changing in recent years.  These were the main points we talked about.
