Malcom in the middle is an American TV show about a boy and his family. They are all a little strange and very funny. We were given some of the dialogues from the show. We read them aloud, Pebbles corrected our pronunciation and then we discussed the meaning of the dialogues. Here is an example of the dialogues
Lois: This is a bathroom. We have a second bathroom!
Hal: Sshhh! (closes closet door and they crouch on the floor) (whispering) If we don’t tell them, they won’t know. It’ll be our little secret. A beautiful little secret!  (laughs)
They stand up and quickly re-cover the toilet and put a box on top of it so they boys won’t find out.
‘What kind of parents do you think they are?’ asked Pebbles….and these were our answers….
 [09:31] Pebbles Kronfeld: irresponsible
[09:31] Pebbles Kronfeld: unworthy
[09:32] Pebbles Kronfeld: opportunistic
[09:32] Pebbles Kronfeld: dishonourable
Another scene took us to a completely different situation. The great parents arrived.
Cut to street where Grandma Ida is crossing the road and Malcolm jogs after her. She stops and leans over, coughing.
Malcolm: Are you ok, Grandma? Cause, I can carry your purse for you. Or, maybe your Whisky.
Grandma Ida: I was flying on a boll guard with my bare hands. (stands up)
Malcolm: Just asking. So, I studied about your country in school.
Grandma Ida: Always at the books! You won’t know what happened when you get eye cancer!
His grandma is very unconventional as you can see from the dialogue. …)))
We acted out these situations; we tried to use the right pronunciation and intonation. It was a great fun to do that.
