Still working

Reading Lesson

Tutor: Delia Brown
Studenti: Abeer Lyric, Chi99, Luisy Highwater, Megi

This lesson targeted scanning and skimming reading skills. We started out with a conversation about a picture of an old lady mopping the floor and whether we find surprising the fact that she still employed.  Not many people actually did. It‘s a well-known fact that the world’s population is getting older and therefore we would have to work for longer.
Our next task was to match words and phrases For example ‘to make ends meet means to cover all of one’s expenses’ or ‘saying a problem can be attributed to a specific person or thing is blaming’.
Our next exercise was reading an article in the notecard. The article was about a situation with pensions in the UK and what steps have been taken to improve the situation. Under the article were questions to check understanding of the article. We were supposed to discuss them and find the correct answers in the text.
